So I think Blue shirts with white text this year:
So $15 each, tagless T-shirt. There is still time to make changes if we need to. And I can order more shirts if you are not on the list.

Shirts
I'm considering ordering shirts and delivering them early this year to allow people to wear the shirt before the run to help geneate more intrest. What do you all think?
Great idea
Maybe Lara Moritz will do a story on it.
Slogan:
"How many drinks does it take to not run straight?"
Slogan:
"How many drinks does it take to not be annoyed by Heath?"
Weak
But, maybe if you have the guts to show up you can find out!
That was Strohm above
Sorry for not signing in.
slogan
Ich bin ein joggermeister
slogans
* one in the pink two in the joggermeister
* Buy joggermeister now!!!!!!
* Don't play with fire, play with joggermeister
* joggermeister, pure lust
* vote joggermeister in '08
Slogans
"My drinking team has a running problem" (left over from last year)
"Alcohol Slurvivor"
"fighting DUI one mile at a time"
"you drink, you run, you win" (a take off of the you drink you drive you lose slogan)
Slogan:
We do what we must. We drink what we want. Because we can.
Running and drinking. Keeping the streets of KCMO safer since 2005.
Always remember that I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me
I still like "My drinking
I still like "My drinking team has a running problem"
Also "fighting DUI one mile at a time"
TCB's slogan
" I drink, therefore I am"
This isn't excersie, I'm
This isn't excersie, I'm trying to catch my beer!
Shirt Order
Can I get a head count or a shirt count at least? Looks like me heath and Russ are the only ones going but lots of you (Kevin, Ben, etc.) like to order shirts sometimes then hang out at home.
SO let me know if you want a shirt and I'll get some made up.
TCB need a T-shirt
large size.
Shirt Size
Large Please.
I will ask Adam, Jake, and maybe Mike Drumm if they are planning on making the Run. I will hopefully let you know within the week if they are attending.
One More Slogan
from a shirt we saw at the 1/2 marathon:
"Drink Strong, Run Hard."
I think her shirt said something like "Live Strong, Run Hard", but we needed to modify it to fit our purpose.
Photoshop
I'm working on the shirt design and hope to send in at least a partcial order Monday. Last years shirt said "powered by booze" on the front and it seemed clever at the time but now I'm not so sure why (booze will do that). I am thinking a real pump up message here like "balls to wall" or "go hard or go home" something a bit cheezy but fun. Any ideas? And on the back I am going to go with My drinking team has a running problem unless I hear any objections? let me know if you want a shirt and what size you want soon.
Go Hard, Or Go Home
I like that for the front. Size (M) for me please.
XL
i'll take an XL and even though i've never been a fan of "my drinking team has a running problem," i guess it'll have to do . . .
"Ball The Jack"
The Dictionary of American Slang has two meanings for "ball the
jack":
: 1. To go, move, or work very rapidly or fast. (Orig. logger use,
from highballing.) -> 2. To gamble or risk everything on one attempt
or effort.
Medium for me
I like "My drinking team has a running problem." "Go Hard or Go Home" seems too generic, though.
run to drink. drink to puke. repeat.
that's all i've got. i'm not feeling very creative lately :*(
Shirt Orders & Possible Runners
Liz is going to do the run and would like a Small Shirt
Adam and Jake might have drill that weekend, but Adam would like a Medium Shirt and I will guess that Jake wants a Medium Shirt
Fucker might have to work, but would like a XL Shirt
Russ, you should know better
no vegetarians allowed!
XL for me
Give me an XL.
I'm in.
I like the slogan Chris mentioned earlier: You drink, you run, you win. (It sounds triumphant, strong, and liquored-up. Just like last year's run.)
A medium shirt will work for me.
Looking forward to it,
Danny B.
Damn It. I'm out.
I just realized that December 8 is my girlfriend's birthday. We'll probably be going out for dinner early that night, so I'm going to have to cancel. (By remembering her birthday, I averted a major relationship catastrophe. Whew.)
I tried to convince her that she should run too, but she's not too hip on the idea of jogging while blitzed. I don't know where her sense of adventure has gone.
Sorry to cancel. Please take lots of pictures.
Danny B.
Tell her to reschedual
Danny you were a star rookie last year and we were counting on your drag Stooks along skills. Can't you ask the GF to reschedual the birthday or celebrate on the run and wear a birthday hat or something?
Side note December 8th is the birthday of Jim Morrison and Matt Lloyd as well for any intrested persons.
I'll work on her.
I might be able to talk her into it, but it's not looking promising right now.
Maybe I can meet her for dinner after the run, if I promise to finish in record time. That'd be hilarious: me walking into a fancy restaurant in sweat-stained workout clothes smelling like beer.
Danny
No Drill
Adam and Jake are both in for the run.
hey...
H sent me an email about the run...I'm in if it's cool. Sign me up for a Medium.

Any Changes?
Free Drinks?
Any news on Heath's attempt to get bar sponsors?
Well...
I took the list that Chris posted and looked up information (phone, address) that I could regarding each of these places. I found phone and addresses for all but about 4-5 of the bars (not that they are not there, because they are, but maybe have changed names, etc. since yellowpages.com was updated), and I also found 4-5 additional bars that were not on the list, but close to or on the same path as the rest of them. Chris and I have been discussing when to call them to see if they would like to "sponser" or run....and we have come up with questions like...Is it too early? Will they forget if we call now, and it is over a month away? Do they want to pay to have their name printed on a shirt (where would it go?), what kind of discounts will they give? Will runners be offended if it is only on beer...and other issues. Chris and I will keep you posted on anything that comes up, and if you have any suggestions, please let us know!
Shirt Orders
I was just concerned that if we order shirts now we wont be able to get the bar info printed on them and would lose sponsorship.
As a non-beer drinker I dont care if I dont get a free drink because I dont drink beer, its my own damn fault. I just think it would be cool to get sponsorship and you guys get free beers out of it.
T-shirts
Hey Hey, who wants their T-shirt?
http://wwwapps.ups.com/etracking/tracking.cgi?tracknums_displayed=5&Type...
I have the shirts, you may have one anytime. $15 each
bars
so what does the final list of bars look like? Which ones and what order??
any input
My idea was to load the pickup or maybe 2 up with people from my house and drive down to Brookside. Leave the truck and hit up hoopers or brooksider and then head south on the path/ wornal. There are a ton of bars to hit in waldo and we could just pick a few on the way. As we get farther south the bars will thin out so we would want to finnish up with corner cocktail at 85th, then Flo's at 89th and then finnish up at 99th and holmes at Creekside. Creekside is about 1/2 a mile from my house and would be easy to get home from here. My only dislike in this plan is that Wornal has no sidewalk from 89th to 95th and is kinda curvy and has lots of traffic. By the end of the run we will be drunk and it will be dark.
Or we could start at my house and run north. Once we have had enough we hop on the bus and take it close to my house. The bus is $2 a person and I could find a good pick up and drop off point if there is intrest in doing this.
Other ideas? There are several bars south from my house and we could avoid waldo if need be. 89th to 95th is going to be rough to get through no matter where we run it.
possible route
Here are the numbers:
drive a car to Brooksider 0 miles 1 drink (or hoopers)
run 1.4 miles to Lew's 1.4 miles 2 drinks (any in waldo)
run .74 miles to Tommy Farha Bar 2.14 miles 3 drinks
run .36 miles to Patrick's Bar 2.5 miles 4 drinks
run .15 miles to Village Lounge 2.65 miles 5 drinks (or Corner Cocktail)
run .63 miles to Flos 3.28 miles 6 drinks
run 1.96 miles to Creekside 5.24 miles 7 drinks (or Billy B's)
crawl .88 miles to my house 6.12 miles lots of chili
Two miles at the end?
That stretch will be disastrous.
48 degrees and 20% chance of rain

is the forcast for Saturday. I say Let's take the bus from our house to brookside, hit hoopers & brookside and then work our way home. The metro bus schedules are confusing me, but maybe we could drive up to brookside like mentioned before and etc until Flos. From Flos, we take 89th over to Holmes where we hop on the bus and take that to 99th. At 99th & holmes, we hit up Billy B's and/ or Creekside and then go home.
Santa Fe Hills Connector # 257 is the route I was looking at.
http://www.kcata.org/_kcatadata/mapdisplay.asp?RouteName=Sante+Fe+Hills+Connector&Route=257&Express=&Weekdaymap=257msa.gif
Any other ideas?
2 bus trips?
I kinda object to 2 bus trips, esp when one we will be compleatly sober and able to carpool. Also We will pass by like a dozen bars, why hit two that are right by eachother?
I've been looking at the bus routes too and it is confusing and some of the routes don't run saturday. How do all the people who always use the bus figure it out, let alone justify $2 a ride.
Two different suggestions
I'm not saying take two busses, they were two different suggestions/ ideas.
last night
I drove this route on my way home and it seemed like it would be really good. I did not see anything all that troubling. Until I was almost to Flo's and a cop jumped in front of the road and waved me onto a side street. I had been watching the sidewalk and not the school zone signs. I got a ticket for 30 in a 25 but may have been going faster then that.
